Its happened again! AOLs forced me to upgrade from 6.0 to 9.0. Unlike the last time this wasn't forced-forced where I couldn't do anything online but it comes damn close. What made me do it? The fact that those assholes were taking away features from me. One of them being the ability to edit my profile and read others both of which are necessities for RP'ers! Fucking ridiculous taking features away from paying customers to make them upgrade to their latest shitiest version!
So I got 9.0 installed, barely, on my moms pc. Why barely? Because one of the sys requirements is 32mb ram. WHICH IS ALL HER PC CAME WITH. Luckily years back I got her to buy a second 32mb chip. But had I not done that then what AOL? Your crappy program either wouldn't run or it would have made her PC so slowwwww it'd be unusable anyway! When you force us next to upgrade please also send us a fresh new PC that meets the system requirements okay? What's wrong with 9.0? A whole lot! All of the windows are much thicker be they chat room, im, keyword places, etc. This leads to them taking up a heck of alot more room and making it all a cluttered mess if your resolution is 800x600 which ours is. Again fucking over paying people who don't got brand spanking new PCs. What have they done to the profile system? Its friggin horrible! Inserting links are a near impossibility unless you got patience and people still on lower versions of AOL cannot see them now! ARGH! Looks like RP's heading back to the days where everyone has to email their character pictures. Oh and by the way even with 64mb of ram having just aol itself open slows things down not to mention a pair ofI IE windows. One last thing to mention is that AdOL's chatroom ads have quadrupled in size! ADS ARE FOR CHEAPIE/FREE ISP's NOT FUCKING $50 a month AOL! 06/21/05 Oh ho ho ho! After spending more time with this crap I find there's plenty of features that can't be used anyway due to "not enough ram." WTF? I'm forced to upgrade because they're taking features away and because the new version is such a ram hug I can't use many new features either! Not to mention this thing sucks complete ass at "remembering window size & position!" Plus profiles are now websites or something anyway you can't hit clear background in order to read the stupid profiles that contain a dark background and dark font. This is just crap >_ |  |
