Phantasy Star Universes story mode fucking sucks! What do I hate most about story mode?
The atrocious voice acting (I even like Shenmue's VA'ing but geez!)? Ethan sounds like a retard, Hyuga is generic pretty boy, Karen is bland and lifeless and so on. NPC teammates who attack only when an enemy is about to die thus stealing your kill and exp! This is made even more stupid with the fact that those fucks level up anyway! And I mean level up! Usually Ethan is the lowest leveled of the group. The fact that you have to go through the system/game startup TWICE to get going??? It's as if they thought the only reason you bought the game was for the online mode. Offline stuff be damned! The even worse than online slowdown? Seriously how the hell can it get so slowwwww and laggy when the max offline party is 4 people? Online the max is 6 and even then it isn't always so slow! The lack of warps to Ethan's room (you have to go all the way back slowwwwwly on foot)????? The seriouuuuuuuuusly weak story?????? Really weak! Rico/Flowens message capsule thingies explained things in better detail than the whole of story mode. What is Endrum Collective? Just whats-his-name and some lackies? What are Seed? Why are they attracted to the photons!? The fact that the main character and all the NPCs are essentially cheat classes is pretty bullshit to. How can a hunter use wands and stuff like that? OH WAIT! The one thing worse then all of that put together is how phony it all is! Enemies dropping hundreds of mesata and exp by the bucketload! Class, regular and photon art leveling up faster then you even realize! It's nothing at all like the online grind! If I had played story mode before online I woulda been sooooo pissed upon really finding out what the game's like that I may have already given up! |
