| Okay for starters yeah I am a newb and yeah I shoulda read up more on wireless 'net connections beforehand but none of that matters in the end because we had to go wireless okay?! So yeah I just partially changed my room around today in order to get the damn router closer to the PC downstairs. 1 floor and three rooms apart. That's not much and it shouldn't be a damn problem. We live in a scrub neighborhood so there's nobody trying to steal our connection nor, I suspect, anyone that can cause major interference to the signal. And yet I had to change my room about because the signal to the PC downstairs often dropped in and out on random whims and obviously that ticked off my mom and me cause I use her PC at night! >_< I don't know what in the high hell the problem could have been but now that the router is as close as it can possibly be these problems better not persist too frequently! I'm out $600 (router, wireless card, worthless geek squad "help," and buying my mom a new computer!) to get high-speed and wifi and damnit this should not be problematic!! I love changing my room around every few months or so but now I have to plan it around being able to keep the router in the hall and suddenly I have far less re-arranging options and that blows! ;_; |
