On her free time, or when in certain investigations, Washuu needs to travel around time or travel to places. Some of these time periods or places may be behind on their technological level, and she must hide such things. This includes creating her own private history in certain spaces.
A prominant cover story is that she holds on a privately owned pirate navy
that resides on the high seas. This navy *is* real, although she may be using
ships that may or may not be of the time period, and she does supply a real
crew. Technological expertise makes sure that she is always ahead of the game
with her little pirate group.
